Rex Tamplin, CPA
With the introduction of the Haynesville Shale to our community, and his involvement in the oil & gas industry while with Roberts Cherry and Company CPA’s, Mr. Tamplin had the foresight to see the need for a one stop consulting firm, catering to the beneficiaries of the Haynesville Shale. Now, Mr. Tamplin is responsible for the day-to-day operations and manages the financial aspects of Aliign LLC. He also coordinates and administers the company’s marketing and strategic plans.
Licensed to practice in the states of Louisiana and Texas with a BS in Accounting from LSU with 23 years of accounting experience; 10 years with large natural gas company, now headquartered in Houston TX, 7 years of real estate/family partnerships, and 6 years of public accounting.
John Dean, CPA/ABV, CVA
Partner of Counsel
John joined Heard, McElroy & Vestal in 1981 and retired in June 2011 after serving as Managing Partner for the previous 11 years. He remains active with the firm today as Partner Of Counsel, and when the company merged with Allign Mineral Management in December 2017, John joined our team. He has extensive experience working with royalty owners and producers in order to secure proper payment for Haynesville Shale production.
A native of Shreveport, John graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, followed by a Master of Public Accounting with a specialization in taxation from The University of Texas.
Nick Courville, CPA
Nick joined the Allign Mineral Management team when the company merged with Heard, McElroy & Vestal in December 2017. He began his career at HMV in May 2011 and works in the Audit Department. Prior to joining HMV, Nick was employed at KPMG, LLP as an Audit Associate. As an Audit Manager, Nick’s duties included performing audits and attestation engagements of for closely-held companies, including those in the oil and gas industry. Additionally, he prepares financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations of client information and researches technical issues and formulates the appropriate conclusions in order to effectively communicate the solution to team members and clients. A graduate of Northwestern State University, Nick received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in May of 2010.
Certified Mineral Manager
In 2015, Destiny joined the Aliign Mineral Management team and became a Certified Mineral Manager shortly thereafter. In addition to working with our royalty clients, she works with our non-operating working interest owners and operating clients.
Destiny has experience with analyzing mineral interests for proper payment, generating support documents for litigation purposes, and outsourced accounting for small independent operating companies. She also focuses on state regulatory filings.
As a graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Destiny received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Marketing.
Certified Mineral Manager
Taylor has been with us since the beginning and has helped build and design the package of services we currently provide our clients. You will be hard pressed to find someone more knowledgeable than she, when it comes to the interest of the royalty owner. Taylor is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, earning a Bachelor of Science in human resource management in 2010. She became a Certified Mineral Manager in 2014 and is currently our lead analyst, working closely with each and every client.
Blake has worked for several years as our special projects lead. Blake is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a degree in finance.
Certified QuickBook ProAdvisor
Phyllis assists our clients by removing the pressure of day-to-day accounting from business owners and stakeholders. With extensive knowledge of WolfePak and QuickBooks accounting software packages, Phyllis offers a variety of services—including the preparation of bank reconciliations, payroll checks and returns, and financial statements. Phyllis not only works with a large, $50 million mineral interest fund with a national presence, but also serves our regional and local mineral interest owner clients.
Coming to Aliign through our merger with Heard, McElroy & Vestal in December 2017, Phyllis brings with her knowledge of the oil and gas industry as well as experience with clients in the engineering, medical, and other professional services fields from her six years in HMV’s accounting services department. She a certified QuickBook ProAdvisor and is currently working to become a Certified Mineral Manager.
